Load calc first, then the circuit.

A Level 2 charger is one of the biggest loads in a house. We check the panel can carry it before anything is mounted, then run a dedicated circuit to where the car actually parks.

  • 01Panel checkA load calc tells you if the existing panel can take the charger or needs an upgrade.
  • 02Dedicated circuitIts own breaker and wire, sized for the charger you picked.
  • 03PlacementMounted where the cable reaches the port, inside the garage or outside on the wall.

Sometimes the panel needs help.

01

Panel has room

Most newer 200 amp panels take a charger with a breaker and a run. That is the simple job.

02

Panel is full

Space can often be made, or a sub panel added near the garage.

03

Service is too small

Older 100 amp houses may need a service upgrade first. The load calc tells you before you spend.

  • Service upgrade
04

Two EVs

Two chargers can share one circuit with load sharing, instead of a second big breaker.

03  /  Questions

Before you call.

Often yes, but it depends on what is already on it. A load calculation answers it with numbers instead of a guess.

Yes. Tesla Wall Connector or another Level 2 charger. Send the model and we will size the circuit to it.

Either. Outside units get a weatherproof install. We place it where the cable reaches the charge port without stretching across the drive.

Lafayette, Broussard, Youngsville, Carencro, Scott, Duson, Breaux Bridge and New Iberia.
